About Taniah

My name is Taniah S. Johnson, and I am originally from Long Beach but raised in Bellflower, California, I served over 14 years as a U.S. Air Force medical laboratory technician, gaining leadership and teamwork skills while supervising junior personnel. My global experiences and higher education at Oregon State University, where I earned a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Sciences, inspired me to pursue a career in education and counseling. Currently, I am working toward a Master of Science in Counseling at Cal State LA, focusing on Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy, as well as School Counseling with a Child Welfare Attendance Authorization. My recent internships at Berendo Middle School (LAUSD) and Centennial High School (CUSD) deepened my commitment to supporting students’ academic, personal, and social growth. I am passionate about advocating for educational equity, particularly in underserved communities like the one I currently reside in, Compton, CA. I look forward to joining the team!
