About Kiely
How much does a polar bear weigh? Enough to break the ice, hi, I’m Kiely! With 20 years of experience leading community change initiatives with teenagers, with a specific emphasis on equity policy, I loved working with youth to create more inclusive schools, cities, and counties. Last year, I made the conscious decision to pivot away from youth work and into “people” roles to focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion and to hopefully create organizational cultures that are less traumatic for marginalized staff. Now, as a Director of People & Culture, I use my background in policy and equity to develop people, talent, and culture. My approach is grounded in empathy, strategy, structural change, and fun.
Why Attachment Matters, LLC?
Healthy communication, non-toxic relationships, and conflict resolution are essential skills that are rarely taught in schools. Reflecting on my own experience coming out as gay in high school, I realize how learning these skills could have profoundly changed my life. Understanding attachment dynamics and healthy relationship practices earlier would have influenced my own self growth, who I surrounded myself with, and the types of people I dated up until my 40s. I imagine a world where teenagers gain these insights in a supportive environment, setting them up for successful, collaborative, and peaceful relationships. I’m passionate about breaking down these concepts in playful, accessible, and engaging ways, and I can’t wait to bring this approach to Attachment Matters!
